  • What are your business hours?

    Our yards are open to the public Monday - Friday 9am - 4:30pm, Saturday 9am - 1pm.

  • Does AIM Recycling sell anything from their yard to the public?

    With the exception of our Athens location, our yards do not sell to the public. If you are interested in buying from our Athens location, please first call the scale house for more details and/or instructions.  Yard location contact info here.

  • Is an ID required?

    Yes, in order to be compliant with the state of Texas, we are required to make a copy of your valid state drivers license or ID card.  There are no exceptions.


    Eligible forms of identification include:

    • Valid drivers license/ID card
    • Military ID
    • Personal identification certificate issued by the DPS

    We cannot accept:

    • Expired drivers licenses
    • Passports
    • Prison ID
    • Student ID
    • Green card
  • Does AIM Recycling pick up metal from houses and businesses?

    No, we do not offer residental pick up service. If your business generates large volumes of scrap metal, tap here the learn about our roll off services.

  • How late does AIM Recycling accept metal?

    Our yards stop accepting metal at 4:30pm during the week and 1:00pm on Saturday. 

    This gives our team enough time to process the drop off before closing time.

  • What are your metal prices?

    The scrap metal prices AIM Recycling offers are dependant on market conditions, so they change regulary. They also may differ depending on location.  Please call the scrap yard nearest you for daily pricing.

  • Scrap yards near me?

  • Does AIM recycle plastic, paper, or glass?

    No.  Our facilities only accept and recycle metal.

  • Can I recycle batteries?

    Yes, you can recycle some types of batteries!  

    Below are the batteries we ACCEPT at our scrap yards: 

    • Auto Batteries 
    • Industrial Batteries
    • Lithium Ion (Laptop & Cell Phone Batteries ONLY)
    • Ni-Cad
    • Ni-Mh

    Batteries we DO NOT ACCEPT:

    • Absolyte
    • Wet Cell Ni-Cad
    • Alkaline (found in common household items like TV remotes)

Frequently Asked Questions | AIM Recycling

1.

Watch out for heavy equipment.

2.

Make eye contact with the operator before moving around mobile equipment.

3.

Follow directions of traffic directors and inspectors.

4.

Only enter the unloading areas when instructed.

5.

Exit vehicle and stay in the designated area if your vehicle is unloaded with mobile equipment.

6.

Do not climb on or take material from scrap piles.

7.

Observe "No smoking" and "Do not enter" signs in the yard.

8.

Watch out for pedestrians while driving (especially when backing up).

9.

Report any injuries to the office promptly.

10.

Dress appropriately - wear sturdy shoes and use gloves to handle scrap.
