Tin, with its exceptional properties, is a metal that can be recycled numerous times without any loss in quality or purity. This characteristic allows this material to be reused indefinitely, thereby minimizing waste, and maximizing sustainability. In the recycling process, tin items are melted down to create new products. Unlike some other metals, tin can be melted at relatively low temperatures, which saves energy and reduces greenhouse gas emissions.

By recycling tin materials, we not only play a vital role in conserving natural resources but it’s also a significant step towards reducing the harmful environmental impacts of mining. Tin is considered a somewhat scarce resource found mainly in China and Indonesia. It is extracted through intensive mining practices, which involve extensive digging, clearing of forests, and the discharge of harmful substances into the atmosphere and water sources.

ot only contribute to energy conservation but also decrease the demand for extracting and refining new tin from ore, which requires a significant amount of energy. The process of extracting and refining tin from ore demands significant quantities of electricity and fossil fuels, resulting in the emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. By recycling tin, we have the opportunity to avoid these energy-intensive processes and make a significant impact in reducing our carbon footprint.

When it comes to getting rid of your old junk vehicle, recycling is always the way to go. If the vehicle is damaged, totaled or just unusable, AIM Recycling will take it off your hands and put a little extra money in your pocket. Recycling is not only an easy option to get rid of your junk vehicle, but it also minimizes the waste that ends up in landfills. This not only helps to reduce the strain on our already overcrowded landfill sites but also plays a crucial role in conserving valuable resources like steel, aluminum, copper and more. Did you know every year, over 25 million tons of material is recycled from old vehicles.

In today's world, where the demand for these resources is ever-increasing, recycling your old vehicle becomes even more significant. By opting for recycling, you are essentially giving a new lease of life to the materials that make up your car. Steel, copper, and aluminum can be extracted from your old vehicle and repurposed for use in various industries. This process not only saves energy but also helps to reduce the need for mining and the subsequent environmental damage it causes. Did you know that every year, over 25 million tons of material is recycled from old vehicles.

You Decided to Recycle Your Vehicle; Now What?

Once you have decided to recycle your vehicle, there are a few things you need to do prior to bringing it to AIM Recycling.

           1. Drain all fluids such as transmission oil, antifreeze, and gasoline from your vehicle.

            2. Punch a hole in the fuel tank.

           3. Make sure the vehicle title matches the VIN #

            4. If your vehicle is 25 years or older you do not have to have a title to recycle your vehicle.

           5. Clean out your vehicle and ensure the trunk of the car is free from any trash or personal items. If you have a truck you want to recycle, make sure there is no trash, debris, or dirt in the truck bed. If your vehicle has trash in it there will be a deduction from your payout.

What To Expect at The Yard

Upon arriving at your local AIM Recycling facility with your junk vehicle, you can expect a seamless, efficient, and expedited process. As soon as you pull up to our yard, our friendly and knowledgeable staff will warmly greet you and guide you through the entire recycling journey. Your vehicle will be weighed by pulling onto a large truck scale, and our AIM associate will gather all necessary information and take photos.

Once this step is complete, you will be directed towards the back to the drop off location where a team member will assist you with unloading your vehicle. After you drop off your vehicle, you will drive back across the scale to have your weight measured again. This is how we calculate the weight of your junk vehicle by subtracting the weight of your current vehicle from your first weigh in. Finally, you can park and proceed to our cashier, where you will be compensated for your recycled vehicle. Vehicles are typically paid by weight.

After you have dropped off your vehicle, our team of highly skilled technicians will begin the recycling process. They will dismantle the vehicle, separating the various components and materials. Valuable metals such as steel, aluminum, and copper, as well as other parts like batteries, wheels, and catalytic converters, will be recovered from the car, sorted, and prepared for recycling. It is important to note that as a recycling facility, AIM Recycling does not keep an inventory of auto parts for sale to the public. These materials will be sent to specialized facilities where they will be melted down and transformed into new products, effectively reducing the demand for raw materials and conserving energy.

Recycling your vehicle at AIM Recycling is not only environmentally friendly but also demonstrates a commitment to social responsibility. By choosing to recycle your old vehicle, you are actively supporting a local business that prioritizes waste reduction and the repurposing of materials, resulting in a positive impact on both the community and the planet. Additionally, depending on the current market value of recyclable materials, recycling can even put some extra money in your pocket. Automobiles are the most recycled consumer product in the world today. Approximately 14 million tons of recycled steel is derived from junk vehicles every year.

is an alloy made from a combination of copper and zinc. It is commonly used in plumbing, building materials, decorative fixtures, sculptures and more. One fascinating aspect of brass is its incredible durability, which means if it ends up in a landfill, it will remain there indefinitely. By recycling brass, we can reduce the need for mining ore to produce new brass. Mining is an energy-intensive and environmentally damaging process, especially when compared to the creation of metals, and metal ores are finite resources. Like aluminum, brass can be recycled repeatedly without losing its quality and properties. Recycling brass not only conserves resources but also helps minimize the impact on the environment.
